About the service

We are running two separate services, one for England and one for Scotland. Please read below for further information

England

In England, we will be working with public libraries, museum libraries and archives to provide access to a range of high quality online resources. These will build on the resources already provided through Reference Online to offer a wider range of digital content to support lifelong learning.

Working together

Throughout January and February 2010 we will be holding a series of nine regional workshops to meet with librarians and discuss your particular needs. These are free to attend and open to anyone working with electronic resources in public libraries, museum libraries, or archives in England. At the workshops we will be presenting banding and licensing options for consultation and discussion so we can find a model that will suit your needs.

New content

Based on the findings of the workshops, a tender to publishers for new resources will be issued in the spring of 2010. Again, all proposals will be evaluated in consultation with librarians. The chosen content is planned to be available for licensing by the autumn of 2010.
