The Irish Newspaper Archives Project began in 2002 with the digitisation of Ireland’s most circulated title, the Irish Independent, and its sister title, the Sunday Independent. INA has now expanded its archive to include 19 newspaper titles stretching back to 1763 and including regional papers from all over the country. 

Of particular interest to public libraries in England would be the advantage of having access to regional titles from all over the country, providing invaluable genealogical information which was previously unavailable anywhere else online.

INA is also looking to expand beyond Irish and UK newspapers and include a range of documents, directories and collections of historical interest including some titles from the US.
