Consultations with librarians

In January and February 2010 we held a series of regional consultation workshops across England to discuss the project with public library staff and to ask them their thoughts on our proposed banding models and the model licence. We were also keen to find out what they wanted from the project in terms of content and criteria of the framework agreement.
At each workshop we gave a series of presentations. The presentations are available below. If you have problems accessing them, please let me know.

Introduction to the Digital Library Licensing Service

This presentation introduces the project, its aims and what we hope to achieve. It also provides a quick overview of JISC Collections and why the MLA has funded us to manage the project.

Banding models and the model licence

This presentation shows  the different banding models that we suggested as possibles to the public librarians. It explains how the data was collected and how we used the data in each model. The presentation also covers some key areas of the model licence that we have created.

Suggestions for content and the framework agreement

This presentation was intended to spark discussion about the types of content that library users would most like access to. In addition it looks at some of the key things that we need to include in the Invitation to Tender that will be sent out to publishers.
